We all fantasise about what our dream day is going to entail, even if it's dressing up in our mums oversized heals to walk down the imaginary wedding isle (yes, this counts for all you men out there too!). Sometimes the best laid plans don't happen the way you imagine. If you're taking the last year into account then large weddings and celebrations have really been thrown out of the window!

Many couples have postponed their big day several times and are now considering a more intimate wedding or elopement. Smaller weddings don't have to be any less special, in fact some of these venues are in the most exquisite of locations! If you, like so many others, are considering a change in your plans then take a look at this list of my favourite venues and locations around Cornwall.

Lusty Glaze, Newquay
Voted the UK's best coastal wedding venue and Britain's Best beach. With its picturesque horseshoe-shaped private cove, Lusty glaze is perfect for an elopement! The summer sun sets directly if front of the beach decking, creating a truly stunning backdrop for your evening celebrations.

Stennack Farm, Praze-an-beeble
This brand new wedding venue for 2020 is slightly off the beaten track but surrounded by vast fields and idyllic woodland. This family-run working farm has transformed its barns into a cluster of exclusive luxury wedding venues, each with their own unique style and merit.

Lower Barns Boutique, Mevagissey
If you're looking for colourful and unique then this is the place for you! Lower Barns specialises in elopements and small scale weddings. Hidden away in the Cornish countryside, it's the perfect escape. Located so close to the south coast provides the ideal location for wedding photos with beautiful backdrops of the coastal cliffs.

Treseren , St Newlyn East
Looking for the perfect weekend getaway wedding for you and your guests? Well Treseren offers its intimate, relaxed and stylish country house wedding location exclusively for you and your closest friends and family for weekend weddings for up to 20 people.

Gwel an Mor, Portreath
This 5 star resort not only has a barn and yurt licensed for wedding ceremonies, but can also offer its luxury lodges for friends and family to stay. Located just a short walk through a woodland valley, Portreath beach makes for a breathtaking backdrop for those picture perfect moments.

Princess Pavilion, Falmouth
The Princess Pavilion offers a more classic and contemporary feel as a wedding venue. With a Theatre Hall and Garden Room Bar, this venue can cater for receptions tailored to you. Spread over four acres, its secret garden and coastal scenery definitely has more of a Mr Darcy vibe.

Trebah Garden, Mawnan Smith
Trebah Garden makes for a beautiful and individual venue for micro-weddings. Approved for civil ceremony's with up to 35 guests, its terrace and private lawn overlooking Helford and the valley make an idyllic backdrop for your bespoke celebration.

The Llawnroc Hotel
If you're looking for a touch of class for your small, intimate wedding then The Llawnroc hotel would be the perfect spot. Its function rooms have views over the garden and the sea beyond, creating a magical atmosphere for your celebrations.

The Park Cornwall, Mawgan Porth
If you're after quirky and unique for your wedding then The Park Cornwall is for you! You can choose from its fairytale style yurt village, on-site restaurant or its 3 eco lodges with stunning balcony views, for up to 25 guests. If a barefoot beach wedding is more your style then Cornish Celebrants can help guide you through.

The Rockpool, Gwithian
Enchanting. Unique. Memorable. These words say it all. In the dunes of Gwithian and Godrevy, with breathtaking views over the national trust headland, The Rockpool offers both bespoke intimate ceremony's and larger events for that perfect wedding destination.
